Beauty and chiropractic? Make-up and chiropractic? Really? How are they related? When incorporating a truly healthy lifestyle --- one thinks of ALL aspects of their life and how their values, philosophy and actions are related --- toxins in our environment are having a serious effect on our health --- including our beauty choices.
Ever noticed yourself purchasing your organic groceries and drinking your green tea and then ... heading to your bathroom and applying petroleum products to your own face? Exactly. Ewwwwwwwww!!!!!
It just doesn't sit well with me.
So, in our office we decided to do something about it. We now carry the local, completely organic cosmetic line: Afterglow Cosmetics :) Very exciting really.
All mineral cosmetics are not created equal. Infact, the majority of mineral cosmetics on the market are still heavily loaded with synthetic paraben preservatives, irritating bismuth oxychloride (which I am extremely happy about -- because high Bismuth levels were showing up in the heavy metal tests on patients in our office), and talc fillers which may be harmful to your skin and over-all health. Afterglow is always free of these irritating ingredients. We use only ultra-pure minerals and certified organic bio-active botanicals. Yes, their products are actually HEALING to the skin!
In short: I love that they are local to Raleigh, gluten free, talc free, GMO free, carmine free, bismuth oxychloride free, paraben free, lake dye free, FD&C free, cornstarch free. AND, they have never been tested on animals and sources ingredients from suppliers who also have no animal testing policies.
Wooooo hooooo! Finally. Right?
